Spencer Melksham Celebrating 100 Years
2024 has been such an incredible year for our club, marking the Centenary of our beloved bowls club. Celebrating 100 years of tradition, friendship, and competition has truly been our greatest achievement.
It’s been wonderful to share this milestone with teams across the county, welcoming both new and old friends. Together, we’ve enjoyed countless events, tournaments, and gatherings that brought out the very best in our community spirit.
From the excitement on the greens to the warmth of every shared moment, this has been a year to remember—a celebration that honors the past while looking forward to many more successful years ahead.
In addition to our Centenary celebrations, 2024 has been a remarkable year for achievements on the field of play. Our ladies’ team has reached incredible heights, making it to the finals and earning the honor of competing at Lamington, with many members proudly cheering them on.
On the men’s side, our Lions team secured promotions to the Premier League, a testament to their skill and determination. We also celebrated the winning of the Wilson Trophy, after finishing as runners-up last year—a truly satisfying victory.
The entry of extra teams in both the ladies’ and men’s leagues further showcases just how vibrant and thriving our club is, with enthusiasm and talent shining through every match. It’s been a year of triumphs both on and off the green, and we couldn’t be prouder!
2024 also saw the exciting debut of our first-ever gala, a highlight in this milestone year. It was a fantastic event filled with lively competition, laughter, and the joy of bringing together players from near and far.
The atmosphere was electric, with everyone—from seasoned bowlers to new faces—joining in to make it a day to remember. The success of our inaugural gala not only added to the vibrancy of our Centenary celebrations but also set the stage for future gatherings, proving once again how strong and connected our bowls community truly is.
